Our Story

APT / American Physical Theater was founded in 2024 by Arthur Yorinks from work begun in 2022 by Yorinks and a group of enormously gifted physical actors. Folding in the extensive and wide-ranging career Yorinks has had in the literary & performing arts with the variety of talents shared by its performers, APT’s diverse performing company brings a wholly distinctive voice to the current theatrical landscape. This collective creates and performs work unlike any other. Compelling, edgy, deeply moving and beautiful, APT is a uniquely American theater company.

Our work begins on the canvas of silence, then traces an expressionistic arc through acting and physicality adding music, sound, light and projection, telling our stories of the human experience raw and unfiltered.
